Cultural Day

 Cultural Day:

Today was our last full day in Belize and we were treated to a cultural day. We took a river boat up the New River to the Lamanai Mayan Ruins (Lamanai means “Submerged Crocodile”). This is one of the largest Mayan archaeological sites. We explored three different Mayan Temples, some dating as far back as 1500 B.C. We also saw lots of birds and some black howler monkeys (they definitely lived up to their name 😂). It was a great experience and we all enjoyed learning more about the history of Belize.
